“Ahmed Shimi” (1294 in Borujerd – July 19, 2013) was a microbiologist and university professor from Iran. He is one of the permanent figures. He is the author and translator of a number of academic books in the field of microbiology and poultry diseases
Professor “Ahmad Shimi” entered the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Tehran University after receiving his diploma from East Tehran High School and defended his doctoral thesis in this university in 1321. Then he taught at Tehran University and retired in 1358. In these years, “Ahmed Shimi” established the bacteriology laboratory, the virology laboratory and the department of poultry diseases of the University of Tehran
He also taught at Islamic Azad University from 1361 to 1382. Professor “Ahmad Shimi” was the selected professor of the 5th conference of the lasting faces of the country in 2004
Among the activities of Professor “Ahmad Shimi” can be translated a number of academic books in the field of microbiology and poultry diseases, activating the laboratory of bacteriology and virology and setting up the department of poultry diseases of Tehran University, presenting various and numerous scientific articles to seminars and conferences. Domestic and foreign, authored and translated 15 books in the fields of virology, microbiology, infectious diseases, immunology and poultry diseases
